The Lincoln Institute of Agri Technology (LIAT) has welcomed the publication of the Government’s Food Strategy White Paper this week.

The paper placed particular focus on the importance of delivering a prosperous agri-food sector through innovation, an area where The University of Lincoln, UK, and LIAT have been at the forefront of development.

The Food Strategy highlights that Agri-technology will play a vital role in boosting food production in the UK over the coming years and will help promote sustainability and affordability within the food industry.

Prof. Simon Pearson, Director of The Lincoln Institute of Agri Technology said:

“The Food Strategy is great news for Lincolnshire and we welcome the contents of the Government’s White Paper.

“The University of Lincoln and LIAT has played a vital role in the development of agri-technology and sustainable food production, and it is encouraging to see these being recognised nationally as key drivers within the industry going forward.

“The paper also recognises that agri-technology will play a key role in dealing with the cost-of-living crisis, providing affordable food production whilst ensuring that farmer and food producers can make a living.”

“We are looking forward to seeing how these factors will be implemented, and how we can play a vital role in ensuring affordable, sustainable food in the future.”
